Lake Keowee is at 97.5% of full pool.
Largemouth and Spotted Bass: Fair. Guide Brad Fowler (864-934-5813) reports that with warmer air and water temperatures fish are starting to slide up into a pre-spawn pattern. They are staging around main lake and secondary points, and any time now Brad expects the bass to make a full-fledged run to the banks. Unlike on some lakes where fish do not feed during the winter and then have to gorge during the pre-spawn, Lake Keowee bass (particularly spots) have been feeding all winter and so anglers still need to fish pretty slowly as water temperatures continue to warm. The best baits will depend on the depth range anglers are targeting, from blade runners to Spot Removers to Carolina rigs. Note that in the warmer water influenced by the cooling discharge there are almost certainly some fish already on the beds.
